The HKU Research Postgraduate Symposium cum Award Presentation Ceremony was held on March 11, 2025, showcasing the remarkable achievements of research postgraduate students and graduates across all ten faculties. The Symposium provided a platform for students to share their research work and engage in intellectual discussions with a diverse audience. Around 140 students, including awardees of the HKU Presidential PhD Scholar Programme admitted in 2023/24, recipients of the HKU Foundation Publication Award for Research Postgraduate Students 2024 and the Research Postgraduate Student Innovation Award 2024/25, presented their research projects. The interactive session sparked insightful conversations and fostered a collaborative environment for the exchange of ideas. The top two presenters of each group were awarded the Best Poster Presentation Award and Poster Presentation Merit Award.
The sharing of expertise and experiences by Professor Andrew Ellul, Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, further enriched the Symposium. The Meet and Greet session with Professor Ellul provided a valuable opportunity for interaction. Participants were inspired and motivated to push the boundaries of their research endeavours.
The event drew to a close with the spotlight shone on the outstanding achievements of research students and graduates. Their hard work and dedication were celebrated and honoured in the award presentation session.
The Symposium emphasised the importance of intellectual exchange, collaboration and networking, fostering new connections and driving innovation within our research community.
